چکیده

Carbonation is one of the critical durability issues in reinforced concrete structures terms their structural integrity and safety may cause fatal deterioration corrosion steel reinforcement if ignored. Many researchers have performed a considerable number studies to predict carbonation structures. However, it still challenging depth or coefficient, as they depend on various factors. Therefore, creating model that can learn from available data using Data Driven Techniques (DDT) step forward this research field. This study provides new approaches coefficient through Model Tree (MT), Random Forest (RF) Multi-Gene Genetic Programming (MGGP) approaches. With 827 case studies, predicted models be seen function set conditioning factors, which are statistically significant explaining mechanism. The results obtained MT, RF MGGP were compared with those Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) (which previously developed). reveal perform better than previous models. Moreover, MT technique displays its output series equations, multiple trees form single equation, more user-friendly applicable practice.

Modelling and simulation of concrete carbonation: competition of several carbonation reactions

Concrete carbonation, i.e. the reaction of alkaline species (inside the concrete) with atmospheric carbon dioxide, is one of the major physicochemical processes compromising the service life of concrete structures. While the main carbonation reaction is that of calcium hydroxide, other constituents such as calcium silicates or calcium-silcate hydrates in the concrete can also carbonate. Many au...

Concrete Carbonation and Chloride Resistance Under Initial Hot Water Curing

Three concrete mix proportions were designed and prepared, respectively, such as fly ash concrete (abbreviated as “FAC”) with 30% fly ash replacement ratio of cement, fly ash, and slag concrete (abbreviated as “FSC”) with each of 20% fly ash and slag replacement ratio and ordinary Portland cement concrete (abbreviated as “OPC”) for the research of carbonation and chloride resistance of concrete...

Modelling and simulation of concrete carbonation with internal layers

Transport and reaction of carbon dioxide with alkaline species in concrete is modelled by a closed system of ordinary and partial differential equations. Varying porosity and varying external exposure as well as nonlinear reaction rates are taken into account. Proper nondimensionalisation is introduced to pay attention to the different characteristic time and length scales. We emphasise the eff...

Influence of Wind Pressure on the Carbonation of Concrete

Carbonation is one of the major deteriorations that accelerate steel corrosion in reinforced concrete structures. Many mathematical/numerical models of the carbonation process, primarily diffusion-reaction models, have been established to predict the carbonation depth. However, the mass transfer of carbon dioxide in porous concrete includes molecular diffusion and convection mass transfer. In p...

Tree-based varying coefficient regression for longitudinal ordinal responses

I propose a method that aims to learn if and how the effects of predictors depend on moderating variables. The algorithm presented is based on the two-stage cumulative logit mixed model and it builds piecewise constant fixed coefficient functions. Moreover, it is scalable for many moderators of possibly mixed scales, integrates interactions between moderators and can handle nonlinearities. The ...
